Free HR Documentation Gap Checker for Canadian Employers

The Canada Policy Manual Compliance Gap Checker is a free documentation-review tool. Answer a few questions about your workplace — jurisdiction, size, industry, and workplace type — and indicate which HR policy documents you already have in place. The checker returns a Documentation Readiness Score and highlights the HR policy documents that are commonly expected for a workplace like yours, each with a link to an official government reference.

This is a documentation-review tool only. It does not determine, certify, or confirm legal compliance, it does not produce a risk score, and it is not legal advice. The checker covers all 12 Canadian provinces and territories (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Yukon); Quebec is not supported. Jurisdictions whose verified rule content has been published return a scored result; others display a preparation notice. Federally regulated workplaces are not included in this version. Use it to spot documentation gaps, then confirm specific obligations with the official source for your jurisdiction and a qualified professional.
