How to introduce and maintain a workplace policy manual
A practical workflow for completing your profile, reviewing a policy manual, introducing it to employees and managing later versions.
A practical starting point
Complete an accurate company profile
Prepare your workplace locations, employee numbers, business activities and actual procedures. A realistic example can explain a field, but your own manual should use your organization's real information.
Review the selected policies
Check that the jurisdiction, workplace details, contacts and operating procedures match your organization. Review the preview before choosing a subscription or downloading the edition available to your account.
Plan the introduction
Choose who will explain the policies, where employees can find them and how questions will be handled. Consider whether particular changes need advice or consultation before implementation.
Record distribution and follow up
Keep a record of the edition provided and the employees who received it. An acknowledgement records receipt; do not assume it resolves every question about enforceability or consent.
Maintain a version history
When a policy changes, record what changed and when it was communicated. Keep superseded versions for your records while making the applicable version easy for employees to find.
